4 innovative ways to use web video for small business like hotels

Even if we are used to see a lot of videos on Internet, and most of the time bad ones, we will see how small businesses like small hotels can take advantage of web video without blowing their budgets and being original just like this article below.

1. Request User Submissions
Hotels should encourage their clients to send videos of them using hotels' facilities, or videos of them enjoying their holidays in hotels' structures. They could organize a contest where the best video could be used as an advertisement on the hotel website or to represent the hotel brand for example. It’s a good way of invloving your clients and building a community.

2. Replace Content
Try making a video instead of writing out your business updates. It is easier for people to watch a video tahn read a full article. Hotels could spread there newsletters by videos posted on their Social Media or sent by email to their community.

3. Teach Them and They Will Come
Product demos are fun, but it results difficult for an hotel to make a demo of it structure. However instead of having photos of rooms, gardens, swimmingpools, etc... hotels could have webcams around to show directly to people what is going on the hotel (weather, number of people, etc...) or even more by making short videos where customers could see themselves directly in the aera where they want to be just like jewellery fitting.

4. Make Some Face Time
Hotels can get even more personal, create a business Skype or Gmail address to let customers know they can call  the guest relations service for example if they have any questions about the hotel or it services. This kind of unusual service will build a strong relationship between the hotel and customers.

Hotels should try to think about innovative ways to provide their services and videos are a very easy, cheap and original way to create a buzz.

  1. I like those tips; they are easy to use and interesting when regarding costumers’ point of view. Nowadays people like to watch videos and this tool more and more seduces them. Nonetheless, hoteliers have to propose something different and something innovative. It’s easy to create a video but very hard to be different into this competitive world.

    By using video, hotels should facilitate the relationship with their costumers and reach a large audience. With the social and mobile development this tool is completely appropriate to the current trend.

    Finally, this tool is measurable, it allows to bring add value to the hotel. Having that in mind, hotels have to create a video plan in order to be well organized in video’s realization.

  2. I totally agree with you ! Hotels really need to focus on attracting customers with videos. Making a video is really a good tool to reach more people and to influence them more.

    With Internet, brands need to be faster and faster and videos can definitely attract people who do not want to read a full article as you said. Create contests for the best videos or any other kind of way to involve the customers can become influencers and enlarge again your community.
    Videos definitely add a huge value to your hotel image - even videos than customers made can help you and your future customers to make decisions to book in your hotel rather than others.
